Job Description: Summary
Excellent opening for a physician with a strong clinical Oncology or Haematology background to work in a hybrid position covering Clinical Research and Medical Affairs with a leading pharmaceutical company. Working specifically in melanoma/immunotherapy or leukaemia, you provide specialist medical and scientific support across a range of key activities including acting as a product/Brand reference point; clinical trial and survey identification/planning; contributing to Brand plans and strategies and developing and reviewing promotional materials.

Key aspects of the role
• Continuously update knowledge of products, patient treatment trends and scientific activities within the Disease Area
• Provide informative responses to scientific queries from external customers and internal partners
• Act as a champion for the medical benefits of a product or products
• Develop the local medical plan
• Design and initiate local trials and surveys, taking into account regulatory and legal requirements
• Provide significant medical input on trial and survey feasibility, review protocols and select sites
• Take joint responsibility for patient recruitment
• Monitor progress of trials and surveys; ensure they are properly conducted and meet planned timelines
• Support statisticians with the analysis of local trials and surveys by providing medical insight
• Prepare presentational materials, with the support of external experts that accurately and fully reflect research outcomes and contribute to developing brand strategies that meet patient needs
• Write Final Study Report and related publications and obtain internal approval
• Manage the impact of SAEs and coordinate Pharmacovigilance (PV) and Regulatory inputs
• Learn how to assess causality of PV cases
• Support the creation of Expert Reports
• Participate as a member of the Local Brand Team through developing the Local Medical Plan and contribute to and challenge other aspects of the Local Brand Plan to ensure brand strategy always serves patient needs
• Build effective partnerships with Marketing counterparts
• Leverage medical insight from External Experts and other customers and knowledge of recent scientific publications to contribute to the development of Brand Plans and Strategies
• Assess promotional materials to ensure that all claims are fully supported by scientific data and are presented in an accurate, fair and balanced manner
• Contribute to building high value-added medical programs such as Continuous Medical Educational Programs and Symposia
• Contribute to development of scientific publications
• Provide scientific support to Marketing, Regulatory, Outcomes Research, Pharmacovigilance and Legal Counsel
• Review training documents to check medical accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Maintain direct contact with External Experts to gather insights and input on treatments and gain a full understanding of patient needs and behaviours, as well as scientific activities within the Disease Area
Experience
Candidates must have substantial post registration experience in clinical medicine within the UK, including at least 2 years in recognised UK training positions. An understanding of clinical trials is essential. All applicants must have a proven background in Oncology and/or Haematology

Qualifications
Candidates must be medically qualified and fully GMC registered. Full membership is preferred.
