Summary
Excellent opportunities for 2 physicians with Cardiovascular, Thrombosis or Haematology experience gained in the NHS or in the pharmaceutical industry to join a market-leading ethical pharmaceutical company based in the South East. Providing medical expertise to the business unit so that Marketing, Promotion, Pharmacovigilance, Product Information and Regulatory Affairs meet commercial needs, legal and ethical standards.

Role
(MA) Medical Advisers (Cardiovascular/Thrombosis) x 2

Key aspects of the role
• lead the brand/therapeutic group clinical programme to meet the business, regulatory and ethical requirements of the business unit
• approve and certify promotional, training and scientific materials
• evaluate and investigate adverse reaction reports associated with prescription medicines in conjunction with the Pharmacovigilance Department reporting to the MHRA
• provide medical opinion to Regulatory Affairs to enable regulatory strategies to be developed
• assist with the medical training of sales representatives to develop their understanding of prescription medicines and the disease area
• provide medical information and expertise in response to customer, internal and external queries
• develop and lead the business unit clinical programme by drafting protocols, contracting investigators, supervising clinical trials, their analysis and reporting
• maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory guidelines, ABPI Code of Practice and SOPs

Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years’ post registration clinical experience in recognised UK training roles that include experience of Cardiovascular, Thrombosis or Haematology medicine. Candidates with industry experience may also be considered for a more senior level appointment with a commensurate increase in starting salary and benefits.

Key requirements are
• knowledge of regulatory guidelines and the ABPI Code of Practice
• knowledge of the principles of clinical trial design, management, analysis, reporting and GCP
• knowledge of specific products and related therapeutic areas
• ability to work with key opinion leaders
• knowledge of the structure and management of the NHS
• excellent verbal and written communication skills
• successful teamworking, particularly in matrix structures
• influencing skills
• personal drive, resilience and determination

Qualifications
Candidates must be medically qualified and fully GMC registered.

Preferably, applicants should have a higher medical qualification such as MRCP or equivalent membership.
