Job Description: Summary
Opportunity for a physician with experience as an industry Medical Adviser within a Medical Affairs function to provide scientific and clinical management support to central medico-marketing activities with one of the fastest-growing pharma companies. Ideally with experience in Diabetes or Metabolic Disease, you will help drive the UK business, provide ABPI Code of Practice advice and develop and maintain contact with key opinion leaders and NHS market access bodies.

Medical Manager
Key aspects of the role
• Establish and develop strong relationships with key external customers including KOLs in relevant therapeutic areas
• Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s products, the relevant therapeutic areas and the structure and workings of the NHS
• Provide advice and support on the Prescription Medicines Code of Practice and be of final signatory status on promotional materials
• Assist and advise Marketing on the preparation of promotional material
• Provide support and training to the R & D team, specifically leading medical input
• Present tailored clinical data packages to internal and external customers to meet the needs of business
• Participate in scientific Advisory Boards
• Keep up to date with clinical knowledge, published data and trial work for company products
• Liaise with the European Medical Affairs Manager and Product Manager
• With the Medical Director, liaise with the company’s HQ and the global R&D centre
• Lead Market Access submissions (e.g. NICE and SMC)
• Line manage and mentor
Experience
Previous pharmaceutical industry experience in Medical Affairs is essential. A background in Diabetes or Metabolic Disease is important.

Qualifications
Candidates must be medically qualified and fully GMC registered. A post graduate medical qualification is preferred.
