Providing Medical Affairs support for the company’s products, the roles require familiarity with the ABPI Code of Practice, first class communication and excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work well within a high performance team.

Independently owned and having grown significantly in recent years, the company has a strong product pipeline and is set for further expansion over the next decade. The portfolio comprises Diabetes, Osteoporosis and Cardiovascular products with further compounds for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes, Depression, Hypertension and Cardiovascular diseases in development. R & D is in progress on Rheumatology, CNS disorders, Oncology and Metabolic Diseases.

(MA) Medical Adviser
Key aspects of the role
• provide project leadership for the planning, implementation and monitoring of phase IV Clinical trials, scientific projects and other specified healthcare projects
• manage the entry of designated products to the NHS as part of a Product Team with specific focus on Key Opinion Leader development and relationship management
• co-ordinate Medical Affairs support through targeted regional influencing activity, face-to-face meetings and advisory boards
• work with Medical and Scientific Information colleagues on the development of medical environmental knowledge and appropriate marketing platforms for the brand
• co-ordinate strategic promotional activity to defend the company against challenge, monitor competitor material and represent the company
• forge links with International and central clinical teams to maximise the UK influence of phase IIIB/IV plans
• be fully conversant and up to date with all aspects of the ABPI Code of Practice and ensure compliance with its provisions
• provide medical approval for promotional activity in accordance with the Code of Practice, Advertising Regulations and internal company procedures
• work with the company’s R & D and Risk Management functions to ensure a robust UK management strategy is in place for brand with a coordinated implementation plan for potential safety issues
• work with health economics colleagues on NICE and SMC submissions
• assist in the application of regional pharmaceconomic modelling for brand with appropriate training of clinical personnel
• alert the company to relevant developments in areas of therapeutic interest
• ensure through initial contact and regular subsequent contacts that the company’s products, image and reputation are maintained and enhanced with specific business objectives in mind
• enrol and actively participate in Higher Medical Training with a clear development plan to attain a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CSST) in Pharmaceutical Medicine
Experience
All candidates must have a minimum of 2 years post registration experience in UK hospital medicine in recognised training rotations.

Qualifications
All candidates must be fully GMC registered. Full membership is preferred. A post graduate medical qualification is desirable but not essential.
