Job Description:

Summary
For an entry level pharmaceutical physician, preferably with primary care experience, an opportunity to work in an office-based Medical Adviser position in the South East with a leading pharma company. The successful candidate will provide medical and scientific advice in support of business opportunities and strategic objectives for the UK business.

Role
(MA) Medical Adviser (Diabetes)

Key aspects of the role
• providing medical information to health care professionals and allied administrative staff primarily by field visits
• building rapport with KOLs within the Diabetes therapeutic area
• preparing/driving the development of scientific communication; presentations, lectures, abstract or manuscripts
• facilitating clinical audits
• reporting adverse events in accordance with regulations
• assisting in the conduct of Diabetes clinical studies in accordance with GCP, company SOPs and local laws
• mapping potential research sites (especially in primary care) and liaising with the clinical research department
• managing clinical and scientific activities in regional centres
• ensuring compliance with ABPI/ MHRA regulations and sign off of national marketing campaigns via a web-based approval system
• supporting the Medical Education team
• contributing to Northern European medical team strategy meetings

Experience
Candidates must have 2-3 years’ post-registration experience in recognised UK hospital training roles and be eligible to undertake HMT in pharmaceutical medicine. At least 1 years’ experience in the Diabetes (or a closely related) therapeutic area is desirable. A GP background is strongly advantageous.

Qualifications
All candidates must be medically qualified and fully GMC registered. Preference will be shown to candidates with a post graduate medical qualification.
